La Galiniére

A relatively short and easy walk of about 2 hours, largely through vineyards and with nice views to the south. Start by walking from the house towards the village and take the first right, the narrow Chemin de Pibelon. Continue up bearing left at the junction to join the Chemin de Roquefiguier. Turn right and follow this small road until you meet the busier Route de Caromb. Turn left. Follow the main road for about 150 yards and then turn left up the smaller Chemin des Vignaux Nord. There is a yellow mark on the post. (You will be following these yellow dashes all the way round; a yellow cross obviously means don’t go that way). Keep straight on this tarred road, across two crossroads (follow the yellow markers) until the Chemin des Bernardins. Turn left and then, quite soon after, turn right on to the Chemin de Bel Air. Follow this road all the way to the signpost at Les Aplanats. Turn left as indicated to La Galinière (0.9km).

At the La Galiniere (Sud) signpost turn left to Beaumes (3 km). This track is variable, occasionally rough and narrow. If in doubt at any juncture – there are various points where the route of the main track is not initially obvious – take time to look around for the yellow (and red) markers. The route is pretty well marked but the markers can be on posts, on trees, on rocks or just on the ground.

You eventually reach tarmac again at the magnificent Rocalinaud. Turn right and follow the Chemin de Rocalinaud  and then the Chemin des Moulins into the heart of Beaumes-de-Venise.
